The 1st Scientific Colloquium – Large Scale Testing: Linking Research and Industry will take place at the Institute of Soil Mechanics and Rock Mechanics (IBF), part of the Karlsruhe Institute of Technology (KIT).
Located on the KIT South Campus, the IBF provides a stimulating academic environment and state-of-the-art laboratory facilities for large-scale geotechnical experiments, making it the ideal venue to connect research and industrial practice.

How to get there

By train:
From Karlsruhe Main Station (Hauptbahnhof), take tram lines 2, 3, S4, S8 or S8 to Durlacher Tor. From there, it’s a short 7-minute walk to the IBF (follow signs toward Engler-Bunte-Ring 14).

By car:
Take the A5 motorway and exit at Karlsruhe-Durlach. Follow Adenauerring towards KIT Campus Süd. Parking is available at the Waldparkplatz (approx. 5 min walk from the institute).

By air:
The nearest airports are Karlsruhe/Baden-Baden (FKB) (approx. 45 min by train), Stuttgart Airport (STR) (approx. 1 h 15 min by train), Frankfurt International Airport (FRA) (approx. 1 h 15 min by train), and Strasbourg Airport (SXB) (approx. 1 h 30 min by train).
